Moving Towards Sustainability Volume II
Winter 2007

Moving Towards Sustainability Volume I
Summer 2004

At CMH, our vision is to be the leading sustainable tourism operator in North America. This means working in collaboration with employees, governments, business, scientists, and local communities to continuously improve our operations, share our experiences with others, and to operate in a way that ensures our long-term viability.

In January 2007, we launched our second sustainability report, Moving Towards Sustainability Volume II. This report highlights both our progress and the challenges of various programs and initiatives since 2004, when we presented our first report, Moving Towards Sustainability.

To further align with our values, we have not printed copies of our Volume II report for distribution. You may download Volume II in its entirety, or select specific sections:

Adventure Collection Member logo

Another reflection of our commitment to stewardship, CMH proudly participates in the Adventure Collection Responsible Travel Program. The Adventure Collection (A/C) is a group of the best and most respected adventure travel companies in the world. A/C members are professionally dedicated to the cultural and environmental well-being of the places they visit and operate in. All members enthusiastically and wholeheartedly agreed to the Adventure Collection's five Strategic Principles of Responsible Travel in November 2003:

  1. Members have specific ongoing projects that further the overall concept of responsible travel.
  2. Members have a clearly defined strategy regarding accountability in their offices.
  3. Members have a clearly defined strategy regarding accountability in the communities where their trips take place.
  4. Responsible travel education guidelines are considered in developing of departures offered by members.
  5. Members are committed to a systematic review of their corporate performance regarding responsible travel.

Since these principles were accepted, CMH has been working to integrate these into our own workplaces and programs.
