Powder 101: Intro Heli-Skiing

Powder 101: The Intro is designed to introduce strong intermediate skiers to deep snow skiing and move them past the initial hurdles of skiing in wilderness terrain.

This program is not for beginner skiers! You should be a newcomer to deep snow skiing and at least a strong intermediate skier. Powder 101 is also for those skiers that would like to ski with 2 guides: Groups of 10 skiers with 2 specially-trained guides allows for practical instruction and, if necessary, splitting the group according to ability.

Powder 101: The Intro is offered throughout the season and dates have been set aside as a women's-only Powder 101.

CMH Guide Roko Koell - Professor of Powder If you are a strong intermediate skier on hardpack, you are ready to heli-ski! My name is Roko Koell, and I am the Dean of Powder U at CMH. Our Powder 101 program is about learning to ski deep snow, and my goal is to teach you the movements you need to master this new technique, while having an incredible time.

I call your first heli-drop-off "the point of no return". In truth, we start out slowly, getting used to how your skis feel in deep snow. I suggest you don't have high expectations on your first run, and guarantee you'll be making outstanding turns by your last run!
