Powder U @ CMH is a collection of heli-ski trips that help you develop your skills as a skier and rider in the deep, backcountry powder of the Columbia Mountains. We offer Powder U courses for those discovering powder snow to those looking to hone their skills in the steep couloirs of the Cariboo Mountains and many courses in between.
Powder U @ CMH was developed and is overseen by the Dean of Deep Powder: Roko Koell, Professor of Powder
This program is for skiers apprehensive about making the shift from resort skier to backcountry skier. With only 10 guests and 2 guides we maximize instruction time to help you advance into a proficient deep snow skier. This course includes some pre-trip prep as well as on-mountain instruction and debriefing sessions back at the lodge each evening. All skiers and riders graduate receiving a personal DVD after the trip documenting their journey from the first day to the last as well as lessons to help you work on your skills post-trip.

With 9 skiers and riders, 3 guides and a Bell 407 helicopter, we divide into two groups and offer expert coaching on skiing lines that allow you to develop your skills without compromising your safety. This course will also provide instruction on reading the terrain and conditions to teach you when you can be more aggressive and when you need to back off. Our guides will be very clear on the stability and hazard on any given day so you will need to be ready to ski terrain that may be less radical, but is appropriate given the conditions of the day.
