Alpine Helicopters

CMH has partnered with Alpine Helicopters for 30+ years. Alpine Helicopters provides a fleet of 25 helicopters and dedicated pilots and engineers. On-going maintenance is provided by a full-time engineers based in each of our 12 Heli-ski areas.

<p>Our partners at <a href="http://www.alpinehelicopter.com" target="_blank">Alpine Helicopters</a> provide us with a fleet of 25 helicopters to ensure our ski program runs smoothly. Each area also has a team of dedicated pilots and engineers. </p> <p>The primary helicopters we use are twin-engine, 11-passenger, jet-powered Bell 212s. We also use Bell 407s and Bell L3s for smaller groups and special flights. At our 11 areas, we have: </p> <img src="/publisher_page_images/0000/0056/ski-safety-heli.jpg" class= "float_right" title="ski-safety-heli" alt="Alpine Helicopters & CMH Heli-Skiing" /> <p>    13 Bell 212s; <br>     3 Bell 407s; and <br>     6 Bell L3s. </p> <p>For backup Alpine keeps a 212 and 407 in Golden, BC and an additional 212 in Kelowna , BC. </p> <p><strong>Alpine's pilots are specially trained in our mountain environment. </strong>As active participants in our safety network, they monitor our guests' compliance and give a comprehensive safety talk around the helicopter just before the groups lift off for their first run. </p> <p><strong>Ongoing maintenance is provided by a full-time engineer based in each area.</strong> All helicopters are equipped with modified skid gear to land on snow, a side basket with a lid to carry skis and snowboards, and radios to ensure continuous communication between pilot, guides, the base lodge, other CMH areas, and outside resources.</p>
