Imagine a playground of discovery about a zillion times bigger than your backyard. The Canadian Rockies are waiting for you and your families to hike, run, climb, and explore where few others have ventured. These picture perfect surroundings are ideal for bonding with family members without having to compete for time and attention due to everyday life and technological distractions. Where helicopters are the normal mode of transportation, fences are noticeably absent, and laughter is required…this idyllic milieu will soon become your family’s most memorable destination.

September, first day of school…Heads will turn when million year old rocks, zip lines, glaciers, helicopters, raging waterfalls, rock climbing, and mountain goats are the operative words your kids use to describe their summer vacation.

How it works:

From little ones to teens, our Family Adventures are designed to please kids of all ages. Each day, the specialized Family Adventures leaders coordinate with your mountain guide to devise a day of fun-filled exploration. Perhaps it will be a helicopter ride to a glacier, the likes of which they’ve only seen in books, hiking mountains taller than any buildings they’ve ever seen, or having snowball fights while wearing shorts in 20° C/70°F weather. Families have the option of hiking together or dividing into kid and adult groups for some or all of the day’s excursions.

Back at the lodge after an adventure-filled day, Family Adventures leaders keep the momentum moving with games and crafts for the kids while parents relax and take advantage of down time or spa amenities before meal time. Dinners are nothing short of spectacular here at CMH and our chefs are especially pleased to personally cater to every young guest’s palate. With an array of casually upscale food options, kids will be tickled with their delectable culinary fare options.
