Shuswap Indian Band and CMH Heli-Skiing and Summer Adventures Sign Memorandum of Understanding
Invermere, B.C. – Feb 3, 2016: The Shuswap Indian Band, an aboriginal community located in Invermere, B.C. and CMH, the world’s first heli-skiing and heli-hiking operator, announced today that they have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to enhance information sharing and cross-cultural understanding, and develop environmental stewardship and community-based initiatives within Southeastern British Columbia’s East Kootenay region.
The MoU was signed today by Shuswap Indian Band Chief Barb Cote and Rob Rohn, CMH Heli-Skiing and Summer Adventures Director of Mountain Operations.
"Because we operate in the Shuswap Indian Band’s traditional territory, we are delighted to formalize our partnership with the Shuswap Band and look forward to working together to develop meaningful community, cultural and environmental stewardship practices," said Rohn.
CMH Heli-Skiing Unveils 2015/16 Ambassador Trips
Banff, AB – Oct 21, 2015: CMH announced today that big mountain skier, Chris Benchetler, will join CMH Heli-Skiing as trip ambassador at CMH Cariboos, December 17-22, 2015.
The world's leading Heli-Skiing operator swapped its skis and snowboards for hiking boots and backpacks with the launch of the 2015 summer season this week.
The California-based skier, who is a fixture in ski films and boasts his own pro model ski with Atomic, “The Bent_Chetler,” will experience the deliciously deep mountains of B.C.’s Cariboo region alongside CMH guests during a heli-ski trip to the remote backcountry lodge.
The newly minted ambassador rounds out the impressive roster of world class athletes who will join CMH Heli-Skiing for intimate ski and snowboard experiences at four CMH lodges this season. This season’s CMH trip ambassadors include ski legend Chris Davenport, Australia’s most decorated female snowboarder Torah Bright, and Olympic gold medalist Julia Mancuso, who will be hosting their own trips throughout the upcoming season respectively.

CMH K2 Chef Paul Moran places fifth in S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2015
Banff, AB – June 30, 2015, 2015: Representing Canada, Chef Moran competes with 19 talented chefs from around the world at Expo Milano 2015
CMH K2 Rotor Lodge Chef Paul Moran placed fifth in the S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 competition in Milan, Italy last week. A new program, the event is designed to support fine dining culture around the world, find the best chefs under 30, and help develop their culinary skills.
Moran impressed the judges with his signature dish, Blood Pigeon Smoked & Roasted with Beet Jus and Charcoal Oil, Polenta and Salsify. He worked closely with mentor Rob Gentile, the Executive Chef at Toronto's Buca, Bar Buca, Buca Osteria & Bar, and the soon to open Jamie's Italian in Yorkdale.
“It was an absolute privilege to cook both alongside and for some of the best chefs in the world,” begins Moran, a Kelowna, B.C. native and Red Seal certified chef at CMH K2 Rotor Lodge located in Nakusp, British Columbia. “I am so proud to have had the opportunity to represent Canada and it is such an incredible honour to have finished fifth in this prestigious culinary event.”
CMH BRINGS BACKCOUNTRY LUXURY A LITTLE BIT CLOSER
Banff, AB – April 17, 2015: CMH Heli‐Skiing announces new Kamloops, B.C. gateway for trips to the Cariboos Lodge in 2015/16.
CMH Heli‐Skiing, the world’s largest and longest serving Heli‐Ski operator, announced a brand new service out of Kamloops, B.C. for the 2015/16 season enabling quicker travel time to experience one of the most authentic backcountry experiences in British Columbia.
The new service to launch next ski season, will see guests of CMH Cariboos fly into Kamloops from their destination of origin instead of Calgary, Alberta. The newly announced transport location will reduce road transfer time for skiers and riders visiting the lodge by 50 percent, resulting in more efficient access to one of CMH’s most remote locations.
“We are privileged to offer guests such exclusive access to some of the most remote and pristine areas to ski and ride in British Columbia,” begins Joe Flannery, President of CMH Heli‐Skiing and Summer Adventures. “The integration of a Kamloops‐based entry point to CMH Cariboos will enable a much shorter travel time for guests to access the powder mecca of the sought after Cariboos region.”
Mark McMorris to Join Guests at CMH Galena
Banff, AB – March 2, 2015: The slopestyle prodigy is the newest trip ambassador set to ride with CMH guests this season
CMH announced today that slopestyle superstar Mark McMorris will join the world’s largest heli operator as a trip ambassador at CMH Galena, March 28‐April 4, 2015.
The Olympian and 10 time X Games medallist will ride with CMH Galena guests for a few powder‐perfect turns in the Selkirk tenure, an area known for its deep powder, epic pillows and steep tree skiing.
“CMH Galena is known for its incredible tree skiing and epic terrain making it an ideal draw for riders and skiers, including the world’s snowboarding elite,” begins Joe Flannery, President of CMH. “We are pleased to unveil our latest ambassador trip and are honoured to have such an immense young talent join us this season.”
CMH K2 Chef Paul Moran Wins S. Pellegrino Young Chef Canadian Regional Title
Banff, AB – February 10, 2015, 2015: Moran to represent Canada at the S. Pellegrino Talent Awards in Milan, June 25-27
CMH K2 Chef Paul Moran claimed the title of best young chef in Canada following the regional competition of the prestigious S. Pellegrino Young Chef Competition held at Malaparte in Toronto last night.
Moran triumphed over nine other Canadian semi-finalists to earn top honours as the Canadian finalist who will travel to Expo Milan from June 25-27 to compete for the crown of S. Pellegrino Young Chef for 2015. The 28-year-old Chef from CMH K2 skillfully prepared his signature dish to capture the top spot, Blood Pigeon Smoked and Roasted with Beet Jus and Charcoal Oil, Polenta and Salsify.
“It is an honour to be recognized amongst such incredible talent,” begins Moran, a Kelowna, B.C. native and Red Seal certified chef who joined CMH Heli-Skiing’s culinary team this season. “I look forward to representing Canada against some of the best in the world and can’t wait to continue on this incredible journey.”
Torah Bright To Host Heli‐Ski Trip At CMH Galena
Banff, AB – February 4, 2015: Olympian joins an impressive lineup of athletes set to ski and ride with CMH guests this season.
CMH Heli‐Skiing announced today that Torah Bright, Australia’s most decorated female snowboarder, will join the world’s largest and longest serving Heli‐Ski operator for an intimate week at CMH Heli‐Skiing.

50 YEARS OF HELI-SKIING - NOW WITH ATOMIC SKIS
Banff, AB – November 3, 2014: Atomic has announced a two-year partnership with CMH Heli-Skiing, the first and largest heli-skiing and heli-hiking company in the world celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2015.

CMH Heli-Skiing Multiplies the Magic at CMH Cariboos

Banff, AB – July 7, 2014: Guests of CMH Heli‐Skiing’s Galena Lodge will now enjoy less time on the road as they travel to the heart of Canada’s Heli‐Skiing heaven.
New to the CMH 2014/15 season, skiers and boarders headed to CMH Galena will fly into Kelowna, B.C. from their destination of origin instead of Calgary, Alberta. Upon arrival in Kelowna, guests will be accommodated at the new Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport hotel and transferred to Galena the following morning, reducing the previous road transfer time by over a third.
As an added bonus, guests who book their Heli‐Ski trip to Galena before July 31, 2014 will receive 50 percent off their accommodation at the Four Points by Sheraton in Kelowna.
CMH Heli‐Skiing To Unveil Refurbishments of Iconic Properties as Part of 50th Anniversary Celebrations

CMH HELI-SKIING TO UNVEIL REFASHIONED GOTHICS LODGE WITH EXPANDED SKI TERRAIN FOR 2013/2014 SEASON
Banff, AB – November 21, 2013: CMH Heli-Skiing, the world’s largest Heli-Skiing operator and the company that invented the sport in Western Canada nearly 50 years ago, announced today that it will unveil significant renovations to its Gothics Lodge, along with a sizeable expansion in its ski terrain in the Selkirks sub-range of the Columbia Mountains for the 2013/2014 season.
The refashioned Gothics Lodge, including an overhauled central living and communal dining areas, will open on December 21, 2013 for the CMH Heli-Skiing season. It will feature new interior design by the cutting-edge Portland-based design firm, Skylab Architecture. This new design concept for the public spaces of the Gothics Lodge seeks to connect the rugged terrain for which CMH is known with a warm, yet contemporarily designed alpine lodge.
Guests of the Gothics Lodge will also benefit from a significant expansion this Heli-Skiing season in the lodge’s skiable terrain, which will add nearly 18,000 acres to its tenure—an additional area almost as large as the three largest ski resorts in North America combined.
