A bit of heliskiing history...
In 1965 a young mountain guide, Hans Gmoser, invented the sport of heliskiing right here in the Bugaboo Mountains of BC, Canada. From these modest beginnings in a logging camp at the base of the Bugaboo Spires, CMH has grown to meet the demand of our guests to 11 heliski lodges in BC’s Columbia Mountain Range. Our accommodation ranges from in-town hotels to remote backcountry lodges accessible only by helicopter.

Summer Adventures...
In 1978, Hans started to take guests into the mountains each summer and Heli-Hiking was born. In the last 32 years our summer experiences have evolved to include Family Adventures, Yoga Retreats, High-Flying Adventures, Via Ferrate routes, Painting and Photography Workshops as well as Short Escapes for hikers and walkers of all abilities and interests.
